Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading back-end teams;

  • Strong background as a Node.js developer with in-depth knowledge of Node.js;

  • Understanding of server and network specifics;

  • Experience working with high-load systems;

  • Familiarity with unit testing and back-end automation testing processes, in collaboration with QA teams;

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;

  • Ability to mentor and train team members effectively.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with CI/CD processes;

  • Partial experience with DevOps tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Development & Education: Mentor and train Node.js developers to enhance their skills and knowledge. Create and manage development programs to support professional growth.

  • Strategy Development & Implementation: Collaborate with the CTO and team to define the back-end departments strategy. Take ownership of its implementation and regularly monitor outcomes.

  • Team Management: Oversee daily operations of the back-end team, including communication, processes, and meetings. Foster a positive and productive team environment.

  • Resource Management: Participate in hiring, onboarding, and managing workloads. Ensure the team has the capacity to achieve goals beyond routine operations.

  • Cross-Departmental Communication: Serve as a bridge between the back-end team and other departments (QA, front-end, C-level, and business). Ensure smooth communication and alignment across teams.

  • Performance Assessment: Conduct performance evaluations, set clear goals, and provide continuous feedback. Develop plans for individual team member growth.

  • Technical Documentation: Manage and improve documentation processes across multiple projects to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Code Review: Perform code reviews and improve the code-review process to maintain high standards of quality.

  • Emergency & Complex Support: Handle complex technical issues or emergencies as needed, providing guidance and solutions.

  • Meetings & Communication: Actively participate in internal team meetings, daily sync-ups, grooming sessions, and other collaborative discussions.
